Parent Teacher Interviews PDF Print E-mail

Parent-teacher interviews are held periodically throughout the school year, typically in conjunction with the publication of report cards. Parent-teacher interviews bring parents and teachers together to foster meaningful discussions about students.

While communication between teachers and parents is welcome at any time, these meetings provide an opportunity to discuss an individual student’s progress within particular subject areas. Key topics include academic achievement, attitude to work and to classmates, behaviour in class, the current course of study and upcoming assessment items. All teachers are available to take appointments and are keen to discuss your student’s needs.

Parents will see one of two comments listed on report cards, these include:

· Interview is welcome – indicating that parents should feel free to access teachers regarding their student’s progress, or

· Interview requested – indicating that the teacher feels that some issues regarding your child’s progress need to be discussed at the parent teacher meetings.

Parent-teacher interviews are held in the school hall, between 3.30 and 7.30pm on the dates scheduled in the school calendar and published in the school newsletter. For 2008, Parent teacher interviews have been scheduled for 29 October.
