FEET (Full Employment, Education and Training) First is a highly regarded program which aims to provide maximum employment, educational or training opportunities for students, particularly in the Senior School.
The program includes:
· A series of work readiness activities and workshops.
· Profiling each student according to academic strengths, interests and vocational ambitions.
· Developing strong industry networks.
· Placing students for work experience and industry skilling.
· Organising and recommending student applications for school based apprenticeships and traineeships.
· Keeping students informed about vocational opportunities and information sessions.
· Vocational counselling.
· Liaising with parents, industry and TAFE to place students in suitable positions.
· Setting a target each year to ensure that no student enters the unemployment cycle after completing Year 12.
· Tracking students after Year 12 to ensure that they do have positions in employment, education or training by 31st March of each year.
The program has a full time co-ordinator (four days a week) a clerical assistant (one day a week) and a vocational counsellor (two days per week).
