Welcome to Rockhampton State High School.  At our school, we offer a strong culture of support to ensure that students grow and develop in a safe and caring environment.  Students are provided with the opportunities that will allow them to reach their potential and to set the goals that will promote their personal growth and maturity.

We believe in preparing students for the future which means providing a relevant and inclusive curriculum as well as the teaching practices that successfully accommodate the learning needs of students.  We also believe in teaching the values that prepare students to lead socially responsible and productive lives.

At Rockhampton State High School, we value the 3 Rs of respect:-

·       Respect for self and others

·       Respect for learning

·       Respect for the environment

The quality of the relationships that students form at the school between themselves and with the staff and community are underpinned by the central values of respect.

When students enrol at Rockhampton State High School, they commence a five year journey that sees rapid development and maturity.  Commitment to study and to achieving the best academic results a student is capable of are extremely important, particularly when results become the prerequisite for future tertiary courses.

School life is greatly enriched when students become involved in life outside of the classroom.  There are so many treasured experiences for the person who has been active on the sporting field, who has played a role in the school musical or who has made significant contributions to the school through a leadership role.

The educative role we provide at the school is a partnership between parents and the community.  Like any partnership, it will be strong when we share a unity of purpose, value each others’ contributions and have a clear understanding of the issues that affect a student’s progress.

I look forward to working with you as we share the enormous responsibility for the education of your child.
